Slayers 2 Demon Horns and Beast Cores: Where to Farm Them

Demon Horns and Beast Cores are the two materials most Breathing Style trainers ask for, and horns also buy elixirs at the docks. Both only drop from demons, and ordinary demons only come out at night.

The quickest loop, used by midnyte to farm 60 horns, is to kill subordinates until Hoyuzo is up, kill him for the 50% triple drop, and repeat. Taking Wagwan’s quest at the same time gives EXP for the same kills. Go with a friend for the High Demons: they have Evil Art moves and hit hard.

Beast Cores

Beast Cores drop from beast-form demons that spawn at night around Mistfall Harbor. Kam’s TV found them easier than the horn demons. syoct says most trainers want about three.

How many you need

The numbers creators quoted on launch day differ by style and were given from memory, so check with your trainer before farming:

Serpent: 25 Demon Horns and 5 Beast Cores (Kam’s TV, “pretty sure”)
Insect: horns and 3 Beast Cores (Kam’s TV)
Thunder: about 7-10 Demon Horns and around 7,000 Wen (SAGEz, “not sure”)
Stone: the Axe and Mace weapon (7% from the Stone Trainee), plus 4 Beast Cores and 4,000 Wen per the community wiki
Tai Chi (fighting style): at least 5 Beast Cores (community wiki)

Other uses

Elixirs: midnyte buys health, health regen and stamina elixirs at Mistfall Harbor with Demon Horns (he budgeted 60 horns for ten of each) for a fishing quest. See the fishing guide.
